Pharmaceutical and biotech companies of all sizes have utilized Cello Health Advantage’s capabilities to improve their internal decision-making processes and to provide a stronger business case for joint ventures.
Company A is the US operations of a European-based specialty biopharmaceutical company; US operations were established in 2009 with a product portfolio of 2 mature products.
Action Plan: Cello Health Advantage recommended that a structured plan be developed to identify and filter potential business development opportunities to ensure that the highly specialized field force continues to have a portfolio of products to sell in the US; the client approved.
Matrix Intelligence Process®:
There were 3 key deliverables for this project: a business plan, a model to filter and prioritize potential assets, and a presentation or “pitch deck” that our client would use as a visual aid when presenting their capabilities to a licensor or potential partner in a joint venture.
- Business Plan included business development objectives, criteria, timeline and milestones, background, and data on specific assets prioritized in model.
- A Model was created that was user-friendly, in Excel, to evaluate, filter, and prioritize assets. It weighed the criteria agreed to by the team based on the importance to the company. Cello Health Advantage assisted in the first round of identifying assets, coding how they fit to the criteria, and using the model to prioritize those that were the best match with Company A. Cello Health Advantage also provided a deep, but digestible, dive (eg, 4 slides per asset) into the highest priority criteria, which were then workshopped with the client in a live meeting.
- A Presentation was created focusing on Company A’s strengths, and using graphics that reflected key takeaways: high energy, a new model, trendsetters
